Assistant Restaurant Manager (Salaried, Multi-Unit) – 322 BBQ & Hill Donut Co.
Location: Mullica Hill, NJ (regular travel to Wilmington, DE)

About Us
Where Smoke Meets Sweet—slow-smoked BBQ, house-made brioche donuts, and brunch. We need a full-time, flexible Assistant Manager who can lead at the store and support across locations.

Must Haves

  • FOH & BOH competence across floor, expo, BBQ line, donuts/brunch, and systems.

  • Hands-on leader who leads by example; team player with clear communication.

  • Experience required in restaurant leadership (2+ years preferred).

  • Financial mindset: understands labor %, COGS, inventory, and reads a P&L.

  • Able/willing to travel between Mullica Hill & Wilmington; valid license & reliable transportation.

  • Nights/weekends/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities (Expanded)

  • Operations & Shift Leadership: run floor & kitchen, pre-shifts, station assignments, cash/deposits, POS audits, expedite to keep pace.

  • People Leadership (Hire • Manage • Fire): recruit, hire, coach, document, and, when necessary, separate per policy; build a respectful, high-accountability culture.

  • Training & Culture: onboard and cross-train (BBQ line, expo, donuts/brunch); model hospitality, cleanliness, urgency.

  • Quality, Food Safety & Cleanliness: line/taste checks, temp logs, allergen protocols, sanitation; inspection-ready always.

  • Inventory & Purchasing: set pars, prep lists, counts, waste logs; order/receive/rotate (FIFO); resolve vendor issues quickly.

  • Guest Experience: table touches, recover service issues fast; ensure accurate menus/signage and strong merchandising.

  • Catering & Events: coordinate pack-outs, delivery timing, and on-site setup; hit dispatch windows.

  • Financial & Profitability (Cost Control)

    • Own labor targets: write schedules to labor %, adjust in shift, manage breaks and deployment.

    • Control COGS: enforce portions/recipes, track yields, log waste, tighten modifiers/voids/discounts.

    • Manage inventory cycle: accurate counts, invoice reconciliation, variance follow-up.

    • Drive sales mix: boost attachment rate on sides/desserts/drinks, promote LTOs, and upsell catering.

    • Report & act: daily manager log; weekly flash P&L with corrective actions.
Compensation: $1.00 per week
